A close relative of the regular Chive, Garlic Chives have a sweet garlic flavour instead of an oniony one. Pick and chop the leaves when they are young for the best flavour and they will make an effective substitute for garlic bulbs.
In June and July, Garlic Chives produce clusters of star-shaped white flowers which are particularly loved by bees and other beneficial insects for being so rich in nectar and pollen. Super easy to grow, you can even have homegrown Garlic Chives to hand if the only space you have to grow them is a windowsill!
