Often planted alongside other plants in container displays, these flowers attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies thanks to the honey scent and high nectar levels.

If grown as a perennial it will develop into quite a large herbaceous plant, but it’s usually bought as one ingredient of a hanging basket scheme, and discarded after flowering.
