Terms & Conditions: Christmas Card Competition

THE PROMOTER

The promoter is: Dobbies Garden Centres Ltd of Melville Nursery, Lasswade, EH18 1AZ, United Kingdom.

 

THE COMPETITION

The title of the competition is “Dobbies Little Seedlings Christmas Card Competition”.

 

HOW TO ENTER  

  1. The competition will run from 09:00 on 10th Nov 2022 to 18.00 on 24 December 2022 (the “Closing Date”) inclusive.
  2. All competition entries must be received by the Promoter no later than 18.00 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.
  3. Enter the competition online by submitting a photo of the Christmas Card design on Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag “#ChristmasLittleSeedlings” and tag the Dobbies Facebook or Instagram account. Please be clear that entries received other than on social media will not be accepted.
  4. No purchase necessary.
  5. The Promoter will not accept: responsibility for competition entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed in transit, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or proof of posting or transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.
  6. By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

ELIGIBILITY 

  1. The competition is only open to UK residents aged 12 years and under. Entries must be submitted on their behalf by parents or guardians who must be a UK resident and aged 18 years or over, except employees of the Promoter or its holding or subsidiary companies or their immediate families.
  2. In entering the competition, you confirm that your child is eligible to do so and eligible to claim the prize. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.
  3. The Promoter will not accept competition entries that are:
    1. automatically generated by computer; and/or
    2. completed by third parties or in bulk; and/or
    3. incomplete.
  4. The Promoter reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the prize competition.

 

THE PRIZE

  1. The prize is one of five £25 Dobbies giftcards.
  2. The prize has no cash value. Vouchers cannot be exchanged or refunded, even partially, and cannot give rise to any charge back. Vouchers cannot be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or expired. A giftcard cannot be used to buy another giftcard or voucher.
  3. There is no cash alternative for the prize.
  4. The prizes are not negotiable, transferable or refundable.

 

WINNERS

  1. The decision of the Promoter is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
  2. The Promoter will contact the winners personally as soon as practicable after the Closing Date, by messaging the Facebook or Instagram account used to enter the competition. The parent or guardian must provide suitable contact details for delivery of the prize.
  3. The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of major prize winners to anyone who writes to the address set out in Condition 1 (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the Closing Date of the competition.
  4. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact the Promoter. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

 

CLAIMING THE PRIZE

  1. Please allow 28 days for delivery of the prize. The prize shall be delivered by post.

  2. The prize may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

  3. The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted or is not available, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant selected from the entries that were received before the Closing Date.

  4. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if any winner is not able to take up the prize.

 

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

 

DATA PROTECTION AND PUBLICITY

The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the Privacy Policy available at https://www.dobbies.com/content/about-dobbies/privacy-and-cookie-policy. See also Condition 6.3 and Condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners.

 

GENERAL

  1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

  2. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

  3. These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the Promoter and all participants submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
