Step 1:

Stretch out all the bendy straws so they’re fully extended and place them into your glass or jug with the bendy part at the bottom.

Step 2:

Make sure the straws are packed in nice and snug, so the jelly doesn’t escape. You can either squeeze them tightly into your jug or hold them together with an elastic band.

Step 3:

In a large mixing bowl, add the jelly cubes and powdered gelatine.

Step 4:

Have an adult help with this step: Pour in 250ml of boiling water into the bowl and mix carefully until everything has completely dissolved.

Step 5:

Let the mixture cool for about 10 minutes, then stir in the double cream. This helps your worms look more realistic!

Step 6:

Carefully pour or spoon the jelly mixture into the open ends of the straws and place in the fridge to chill and set. Check your jelly packet for exact timings.

Step 7:

Next, pop your chocolate biscuits into a sandwich bag and seal it tight.

Step 8:

Use a rolling pin to crush your biscuits into crumbly “soil”.

Step 9:

Once your jelly worms have set, run warm water over the outside of the straws for a few seconds to loosen the jelly. Then, gently squeeze each straw to push out your worms.

Step 10:

Spoon your crushed biscuits into bowls and arrange your worms on top. Want to make it even more gross? Add gummy bugs or sprinkle more biscuit “mud” on top!
