Easter egg decorating
Cakey loves decorating Easter eggs with bright colours and fun patterns — and at one point, Eggy the Easter Kitty Bunny’s orange egg gets mixed up and decorated to look just like a carrot!
Now it’s your turn to get creative, just like Cakey.
With the help of a grown-up, you can decorate your own hardboiled eggs at home to look like:
- Spring fruits and veggies (like carrots, strawberries, or blueberries)
- Your favourite DreamWorks Gabby’s Dollhouse characters (like Pandy Paws, Kitty Fairy, or Eggy)
- Creative patterns like colourful stripes, spots, zigzags, or sparkles
To get started, you’ll need:
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Paint in a variety of colours
- Craft paper for ears, leaves, and/or whiskers
- Glue or sticky dots
- Stickers, googly eyes, or glitter (optional)
- Newspaper or scrap paper (to protect your table)
Let’s get started!
1. Choose your character or design
Do you want to decorate your eggs like fruit or veggies (like Cakey!), turn them into your favourite DreamWorks Gabby’s Dollhouse characters, create your own patterns, or do all three?
2. Add a base colour
Paint or colour your egg with a background colour before leaving it to dry for a few minutes. For example, you might want to choose:
- Orange for a carrot
- Red for a strawberry
- Blue for CatRat
- Purple for DJ Catnip
- Pink for Eggy the Easter Kitty Bunny
- White for Cakey Cat
3. Add the details
Once your base layer is dry, add fun details like:
- Whiskers, eyes, and a smile
- DJ Catnip’s pink hoodie
- Cakey Cat’s sprinkles
- Black dots for strawberry seeds
- Zigzags, lines, and other patterns
4. Stick on extra features
Glue small pieces of craft paper to your egg to add ears, accessories, leafy tops, flower crowns, or anything else you can think of to make your eggs extra special!
