LITTLE SEEDLINGS AMBASSADORS

Dobbies’ Little Seedlings is our gardening club just for kids. We have monthly in-store events and a dedicated section at dobbies.com, with activities and educational content. It's a fantastic place for parents and children to get gardening ideas and learn all about wildlife, plants and the environment.

We invited youngsters across the UK to become Little Seedling Ambassadors. Here are the first of our ambassadors!

Ethan Firth

From: Ashford

Why wanted to be a Little Seedling Ambassador: “I wanted to be an ambassador because I love gardening so much that I wanted to share my passion with other children and hopefully encourage everyone of all ages to try gardening as it makes you really happy.”

From: Dundee

Why wanted to be a Little Seedling Ambassador: “I like planting and seeing lovely flowers. We don’t have our own garden, but I like to help my Nana in her garden and during lockdown, I helped my Grandpa to plant vegetables on his farm.

From: Sutton

Why wanted to be a Little Seedling Ambassador: “I like planting lots of seedlings and I like planting seeds into compost. They like heat, water and sunshine. I hope others would like to join in and start growing some plants too as it is lots of fun.”

In September we had our first Little Seedlings Workshop encouraging children to look after the environment and have fun in the garden. Our Ambassadors shared their thoughts on the activities they took part in.

Ethan Firth

“The recycling workshop was very informative and enjoyable. The activities were well thought out and it was great for the children to be able to get involved and learn a basic understanding of the importance of recycling in a fun and hands on way and taking away with them the knowledge of why it’s important to recycle when we can.”

“It’s really fun being back at Little Seedlings. I liked when we planted the marigold seeds because we get to watch them as they grow and how many days it takes. I learned that you can’t recycle meat, you can’t put meat in the compost bin. I love to see all the different plants at Dobbies.”
