Caring for your Christmas Tree

Follow our step-by-step guide for how to care for your cut tree:

STEP 1
Load your tree into the front seat of your car, with the base in the footwell
STEP 2
Keep your tree outside in water for as long as possible before you bring it inside to decorate
STEP 3
When home, carefully make a fresh 5cm cut in the trunk using a saw, this should be done outside
STEP 4
Remove the net and shake off any loose pine needles outside
STEP 5
Position your tree in a cool, dry place inside away from direct heat
STEP 6
Use a water-holding stand to keep your tree looking fresh all season long
STEP 7
Check water levels daily and top up as required

Keep your pot grown tree outside for as long as possible
STEP 2
Place your pot grown tree in a cool dry place, away from any direct heat to keeping it looking its best throughout the festive period
STEP 3
Check the soil every few days and water as required, but be careful not to over water
STEP 4
When the festive period is over, your pot grown Christmas tree can be planted out into the garden or re-potted into a slightly larger container to enjoy indoors again next year
STEP 5
Place your pot grown tree in a bright patch outdoors for your tree to grow
STEP 6
Make sure it is well watered, particularly during warmer months
STEP 7
Careful pruning will help to keep its pyramid shape
STEP 8
Enjoy your pot grown tree for years to come
