  • Dobbies peat free multi-purpose compost is ideal for planting flowers, bedding plants, and for growing fruit & veg.

    It has been specially developed and contains essential plant food that feeds your plants for up to 5 weeks, giving your plants the best start. Perfect for rookie gardeners and horticultural experts alike!

    Please note this compost is not suitable for all plants:
    - for seed sowing: use a seed & cutting compost; for seedlings and young plants: use a young plant compost; for acid loving plants use an ericeous compost

  • Health & Safety Advice:
    - Always use this compost in a well-ventilated area, ensuring to avoid breathing in dust.
    - Keep away from children and pets
    - Wear gloves while gardening and wash your hands thoroughly after use.

  • How to use:
    - Put on a pair of gloves and crumble compost between your hands to break down any lumps so that it regains its open texture.

    Beds & Borders:
    - Water plants well and wlloe excess to drain away
    - Dig a hole twice the width & depth of the rootball
    - Put a layer of compost into the base of the hole and mix with soil
    - Place plant in the hole and back fill with compost mixed with soil
    - Fill compost around plant and water well.

    Pots & Containers:
    - Water plants well and allow excess to drain
    - Fill your container to the appropriate level for the rootball to sit just below the rim
    - Remove the plant from its pot and place in the container
    - Firm the compost around the roots and add more compost as required
    - Continue adding and firming the compost until level with the rim of the pot
    - Water well, allow excess water to drain away

    Hanging baskets:
    - Select your basket and appropriate liner
    - Follow instructions as for pots & containers
    - Trailing plants should be placed around the outside and upright plants in the middle.

    Feeding advice:
    - Start feeding your plants after 5 weeks with a suitable plant feed or before if plants start to appear pale & yellow.
