25L Dobbies Peat Free Lawn Dressing

This peat free lawn dressing is the ideal compost to improve your lawn.

It has been specially developed with 100% naturally occurring ingredients & rich in nutrients for maintaining grass growth & health.

Health & safety advice:
- Use in a well-ventilated place & avoid breathing in dust
- Always wear gloves when gardening & wash hands after using compost

How to use
- Put on a pair of gloves & crumble compost between your hands to break down any lumps so that it regains its open texture.

Creating new lawns
- Place a layer over the surface of the area of soil to be sown or turfed & fork or hoe into the surface
- Take care to make the soil as level as possible to avoid bumps or hollows in the finished lawn

Aerating & improving drainage
- An application of Dobbies lawn dressing (commonly known as top dressing) will improve the root zone of lawn grasses, as it reduces compaction & increases aeration
- In spring or autumn, spike the whole lawn area down to a depth of at least 8cm with a garden fork
- Spread the lawn dressing over the lawn with the back of a soil rake or hard broom, working it well into the surface & into the holes that have been made
- It encourages increased grass root activity which will improve the lawns ability to withstand hard ware & drought conditions
- The organic matter will also help to maintain an acid balance in the soil which will encourage healthy turf growth & grass to thrive

Repairing hollows
- The lawn dressing should be spread evenly, to fill any hollow areas
- These areas can then be sown with grass seed to cover any patches

Handy gardening tips
- Store in a dry, frost-free place away from any garden chemicals
- Reseal the bag after use
- Not suitable for use with ericaceous (acid loving) plants
