    - Wear gloves while gardening and wash your hands thoroughly after use.

  • How to use:
    - Put on a pair of gloves and crumble compost between your hands to break down any lumps so that it regains its open texture.
The open structure of this compost means that it is not suitable for fine seeds.

    - Fill your container to the appropriate level for the root ball to sit just below the rim
    - Remove the plant from its pot and place in the container
    - Firm the compost around the roots and add more compost as required
    - Continue adding and firming the compost until level with the rim of the pot
    - Water well, allow excess water to drain away

    - Sow the seeds following the instructions on the seed pack
    - Water gently using a watering can with a fine rose
    - Cover the seed tray with glass or clear polythene to create a humid atmosphere
    - Place in a warm spot away from direct sunlight until seeds have germinated
    - Remove glass or polythene and keep moist until seedlings are ready for pricking out

    Taking cuttings:
    - Fill a seed tray or pot evenly with compost and firm so the compost is level
    - Make a sloping cut in the stem of the cutting and remove all bottom leaves
    - Dip end of cutting in hormone rooting powder to encourage rooting
