Calathea Insignis 12cm
ADD TO BAG
The Calathea Insignis, family of the Marantaceae, is a plant that comes from the jungles of South America and the Amazon region. Here it grows in shady places. A special feature of the Calathea is that the leaves close in the evening and unfold again in daylight.
The plant has therefore been given the nickname Living Plant. In addition, the plant is also called Bid Plant because of the way in which the leaves seem to fold together. Calathea comes from the Greek word Kalathos, which means 'basket', referring to the leaf drawing of the Calathea.
Please note that all our plants come in simple plastic pots unless otherwise stated in the product name. If you wish to pot yours up we do have a wide range of pots to choose from.
