Fragaria x ananassa Rhapsody

New variety with heavy cropping and good disease resistance

Delicious, deep red fruits have firm flesh and a sweet flavour making their harvest in July a real treat. A great variety for jam making or to eat fresh from the garden, perfect on a sunny summer’s day.

Where?

Happiest in full sun and any good garden soil, or try in a large container.

How?

Add well rotted manure or homemade garden compost to the soil before planting. Place straw under the plants to keep the fruits off the soil as they form and feed once a week through the summer with a suitable liquid fertiliser.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
