Ready for picking in June and July this is an early variety that will guarantee a tasty harvest of sweet, deep red berries. A beautiful flavour fresh from the garden and also a great variety for jam making.

Where?

Happiest in full sun in any good garden soil. Why not try planting a few in a large container on a sunny patio for a taste summer treat.

How?

Add homemade garden compost or well rotted manure to the soil before planting and place straw under the berries as they begin to form to keep them off the soil. Water well in dry weather especially as your plants being to bear fruit. Feed weekly through the summer months with a suitable liquid fertiliser.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
