Rhubarb Victoria

GardenAward

Rheum x hybridum Victoria

A high yielding variety

A tried and trusted classic variety with tender, sweet, greenish-pink stems. A reliably heavy cropper year after year.

Where?

Grow in a sunny or lightly shaded spot, if space is limited use in a border alongside perennials or shrubs.

How?

Rhubarb may be started into growth early in the season by forcing the stems. They are extremely hardy plants and need a cold winter to do well. They enjoy a fertile but well-drained soil and do not like to be waterlogged. Enrich the soil with organic matter before planting - homemade garden compost or well rotted manure is fine. Remove any flower spikes as they appear.

This is one of the most popular commercial rhubarbs as it is a heavy cropper with excellent flavour.
