Weigela florida Monet Verweig

PollinatorAward

A dwarf variety with spectacular foliage

A small Weigela perfect for a container or at the front of a sunny border. In spring colourful cream, pink and pale green leaves appear. From early to mid-summer summer clusters of bright pink flowers are produced, these are great for bees. In autumn the leaves turn from pink to plum to purple.

Where?

Happy in a sunny spot in any soil, as long as not waterlogged in winter.

How?

Water regularly after planting until established. Trim to shape after flowering if needed. Use a good quality potting compost if planting in a container.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
