GardenAward
PollinatorAward

Compact form with deep purple foliage and bright pink flowers

A neat, slow growing Weigela, ideal for the front of a border or in a large container. In late spring and early summer clusters of bright pink flowers make a beautiful contrast to the deep purple leaves. Loved by bees who will climb right into the flowers to collect the pollen.

Where?

Happy in sun or part shade and any soil, as long as not waterlogged in winter.

How?

Water regularly after planting until established. Trim to shape after flowering if needed.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
