A fast growing azalea producing the most fantastic display of sweetly scented bright yellow flowers in spring. It is a deciduous plant producing bright green leaves in spring which then turn various shades of orange in the autumn.

Best in partial shade in moist, well-drained, humus-rich, acidic soil.

How?

Must be grown in acidic soil conditions so it is best to test your soil before planting. If your soil is alkaline or neutral this plant can be grown in a container using ericaceous compost.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. If planting in a bed or border test the soil to establish its pH. If the soil is too alkali it is best to grow your plant in a container. In either case prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig ericaceous compost into the base of the hole, if planting in a container use ericaceous compost to fill the pot. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
