Moonraker is a dwarf Phormium growing just two feet in height and spreading slowly. Its leaves are light green in the centre with a yellowy green trim.

Where?

Place in full sunshine or partial shade and grow in moist but well-drained soil.

How?

Establish in the garden or in a container. Cut back any dead or dying leaves in early Spring to encourage new growth.

Moonraker is a smaller alternative to other varieties of Phormium which can come to dominate parts of the garden.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
