Tree Mallow

Vigorous garden variety with large pink flowers

Pretty in pink this beautiful shrub flowers and flowers through the summer. The luminous deep pink flowers smother the leaves and it will make an eye catching addition to the back of a border. Easy to grow and very rewarding.

Where?

Happiest in a sheltered spot in full sun and well drained soil, Lavateras cope well with drought once established and are the perfect low maintenance plants.

How?

Water well after planting. Cut back hard in late spring each year to encourage new flowering stems.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
