Tree Mallow

Compact form producing masses of pink flowers

This mallow is compact enough for a container or to grow at the front of a border. Masses of beautiful, saucer shaped, blush-pink flowers with a deep red centre appear from felty buds thorough the summer months.

Where?

Happiest in full sun and well drained soil, this mallow is quite at home in seaside gardens, a sunny border or a container. Protect from the worst winter frosts.

How?

Water well after planting. Use a good quality potting compost for container growing. Cut back hard in late spring each year to encourage new flowering stems.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
