Lavatera Magenta Magic

Tree Mallow

Large magenta flowers

Beautiful bright magenta flowers with deeper pink veining in the petals making this newer variety really stand out. The perfect low maintenance plant, this mallow will flower right through the summer and is a good choice for the middle of a border. Loved by bees.

Where?

Happiest in a sunny spot in any soil, also a good choice for a seaside garden. Copes well with drought once established.

How?

Water well after planting. Cut back hard in late spring each year to encourage new flowering stems.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
