Well known for its bright and attractive yellow flowers that are cup shaped, with vibrant red anthers. The plant has a rich consistent green and yellow foliage throughout summer, while the flowers bloom between the months of July and October.


This plant needs well-drained, fertile soils to thrive although is very tolerant of most situations.


To keep it in tip-top shape, this plant needs to be trimmed immediately after flowering. Enriched to soil with compost and general fertilizers annually for best results.

The plant is originally a native of the Republic of Ireland.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
