GardenAward

Long flowering compact variety

A popular compact variety of lace-cap hydrangea with mid green leaves and delicate pink to purplish pink flowers from June to July. In lime free soil the flowers will be deeper in colour.

Where?

Happy in a sunny or partly shaded position. Ideal for a cottage garden, in a border or container. It also makes a great cut flower.

How?

Loves growing in a fertile, well-drained, soil. Keep well watered in dry spells. Add lime to encourage pink blooms or aluminium sulphate to produce blue flowers. Use a good quality potting compost for container growing.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
