Low growing and bushy, an evergreen shrub with attractive foliage of silvery greys and greens, collections of yellow flowers with maroon blotches appear in spring.

Where?

Enjoys a sheltered and sunny location preferably facing West or South, could be grown on a bank or as ground cover.

How?

Very low maintenance and drought proof enjoys well drained, sandy soils but will tolerate most loams.

Though native to Southern Portugal and Spain it is hardy to minus 5 Celsius, but prune damaged shoots in the spring if it’s a cold winter.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
