Hardy Fuchsia

A dwarf hardy fuchsia with beautiful pink and white flowers

A dwarf Fuchsia that grows to a maximum height of two feet, the Lady Thumb is bushy and compact with appealing and delicate flowers of pinks and whites.

Where?

Looks great in a large flower pot or planter and does best when kept in a shady area.

How?

Needs to be watered well while it establishes itself and should be nurtured using compost if kept in the pot, alternatively plant in moist, fertile soils.

Named after Tom Thumb, a hardy variety of Fuchsia that can be left outdoors during the winter months.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
