A colourful bushy shrub that is grown for its highly ornamental leaves that remain attractive all year round. This plant has glossy green leaves, edged creamy-yellow, that fades to cream-white with age.

Where?

A very versatile plant that is happy in full sun or partial shade. It will grow well in a coastal garden and it may be shaped into a low hedge.

How?

It does not like waterlogged soil, much preferring dry conditions. It is easy to grow, hardy, and once established require little attention.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
