Mexican Orange Blossom

Evergreen shrub with masses of scented white flowers in late spring

This beautiful evergreen shrub is easy to grow and makes an elegant, neat mound of finger like, glossy golden yellow leaves. In late spring and again in autumn these are topped with clusters of sweetly scented white flowers that are loved by bees and other insects. The scent will waft around your garden on still, sunny days.

A good choice for year round interest in a sunny or partly shaded border, where it is easy to grow in most garden soils. Also an excellent choice for a large container on the patio.

Plant in well prepared soil and shelter from cold winter winds if growing in a container. Cut back lightly after the spring flowering to remove faded flower heads and encourage new growth. Older plants can be cut back hard in late spring to rejuvenate them if they get too large.

Foliage is mildly scented

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
