Mexican Orange Blossom

Glossy bright yellow leaves and scented white flowers

With rounded, soft, yellow leaves that are brighter gold when grown in full sun, this plant is a winner for year-round colour in your garden. Choisya 'Sundance' creates a dazzling picture in late spring and early autumn when the glowing leaves set off clusters of sweetly and heavily-scented white flowers.

Where?

A very rewarding plant that's easy to grow in most soils and happy in the garden or a container on the patio.

How?

Grow this plant in a sheltered spot away from cold winter winds. Trim lightly to shape in late spring after flowering.

Choisya 'Sundance' was one of the first of the golden-leaved Mexican orange blossoms to be introduced and it's one of the best.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
