Buddleja Silver Anniversary

Butterfly Bush

Stunning grey foliage

The must have plant for keen gardeners but easy enough for anyone to grow. Buddleja 'Silver Anniversary' (Morning Mist) has beautiful felty silver leaves that are show stopping in their own right. In summer the picture is completed by short spikes of ivory flowers that have a contrasting orange centre.

The sweet scent of the flowers packs a punch so place it in a big container or in a sunny border near a pathway so that passers by can enjoy it as much as the butterflies and bees that will flock to the flowers.

Give this Buddleja a sheltered site away from cold winter winds and plant in well drained soil. Cut back lightly to shape in spring once new leaves are seen and remove the faded flowers through the summer to encourage more.

Buddleja was previously known as Buddleia

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
