Buddleja davidii Pink Delight

Butterfly Bush

Medium sized Buddleja with large pink flowers

A beautiful and unusual colour in the Buddleja family. 'Pink Delight' is just that with rich pink flower spikes that have a tiny orange centre. The blooms are enhanced by a backdrop of bright green leaves and the plant will flower for months through summer if the faded flowers are removed regularly to encourage more.

Tall growing, this plant is best placed at the back of a sunny border in any good garden soil.

Cut back hard in late spring each year to encourage vigorous new growth that will bear plenty of sweetly scented flowers later in summer.

Buddleja was previously known as Buddleia

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
