Brachyglottis Walberton's Silver Dormouse

All year round silver foliage and bright yellow summer flowers

An amazing plant which combines bright silver grey foliage all year long with large showy daisy like flowers in the summer. An easy to grow compact and dense plant it is an attractive contrast to other green leafed plants in a garden. Can be hard pruned in mid-spring at the expense of flowers in summer.

Very tolerant of most position in a garden it thrives in well drained soil in full sun.

Needs little specialist care and attention. To keep its shape it can be trimmed back in summer if you are willing to sacrifice some of its display of flowers.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
