Fragrant blooms throughout the Summer and Autumn

A particularly healthy and robust variety, bearing long arching branches that carry its flowers very freely. Blush pink buds open into blooms of blush touched with apricot, each a perfect rosette shape and distinctly quartered. Outer petals shade to almost white with just a hint of blush and the lovely fresh fragrance is medium-strong. Foliage is very clean and free from disease. A versatile variety which has all the qualities of a good ground cover rose. Holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.

A bushy, mounding rose which is highly versatile. A good ground cover rose for a key position in the border, it also performs well in a large patio container or planted as a short hedge.

Named after the character in Thomas Hardy’s The Return of the Native.

    Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.

Planting site Patio Container, Flower Border & Beds, Cottage Garden, Informal Garden, City Garden, Courtyard Garden.
