Fragrant blooms throughout the Summer and Autumn

The blooms of this wonderful variety are large and full, warm pink at the centre, gradually shading to pale pink at the edges. Each bloom is packed with numerous petals, beautifully arranged to create a neat, slightly domed flower. Flowers very freely and continuously with a delicious Old Rose fragrance of medium strength. A very vigorous, healthy and disease free variety. Almost thornless. Recommended.

Vigorous, upright growth, which is almost thornless. Makes a wonderful climber in a short period of time. Particularly suited to growing on a pillar but equally suited to covering a wall, where it may grow a little taller.

James Galway is named after the internationally acclaimed British flautist, in celebration of his 60th Birthday.

    Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot at least 15cm away from the wall, fence or support. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant – along with its supporting cane in the hole, leaning onto the support, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Arrange and tie the stems onto the support. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.

Planting site Flower Border & Beds, Cottage Garden, Informal Garden, City Garden, Courtyard Garden.
