Miscanthus sinensis Little Zebra

Dwarf Zebra Grass

Unusual horizontal stripes on foliage

Reliable and easy to grow, Little Zebra is a good choice for year round interest with its gorgeous green leaves and creamy-yellow horizontal bands. More compact variety than other Miscanthus, it maintains its colour in through the year. In late summer it has copper-pink flowers which mature to silvery-white.

This grass grows best in part shade or full sun. Ideal for beds and borders or in a container.

Able to cope with dry conditions and needs free-draining soil to look its best.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
