Veronica gentianoides Tissington White

Speedwell

Easy to grow and stunning white flowers

This lovely variety will bring soft summer colour to the garden. Spikes of white flowers lightly flushed with blue rise above a lush mound of green leaves in early summer.

Where?

Happy in sunny or partial shade, ideal for the front of a border or in a container.

How?

Good in any moist, well-drained soil. Add coarse grit or sand to the planting hole if your soil is heavy and wet in winter. Use a good quality general purpose compost for container growing and raise the pot on 'pot feet' through the winter months to help with drainage. Remove the faded spikes to encourage more. Cut down in autumn to keep tidy in autumn.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
