Award winning variety

A little jewel of a plant with a long flowering season. A bushy plant that sends up lots of slender stems clustered with a haze of tiny purple flowers, much loved by butterflies and bees. Plant alongside silver leafed plants for a lovely effect.

Where?

Best in a sunny or lightly shaded position, use in a border, gravel garden or container.

How?

Easy to grow, but needs a well-drained soil. Add coarse grit or sand to the planting hole if your soil is heavy and wet in winter. Use a good quality general purpose compost for container growing and raise the pot on 'pot feet' through the winter months to help with drainage.

A versatile plant that also looks fabulous in the company of hot orange and yellow coloured plants like heleniums, achilleas and dahlias.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
