Paeonia lactiflora Immaculee

Perfect for a sunny spot

Icy white blooms float above bronze-green leaves in midsummer making this elegant plant a deserving addition to a border. The huge flowers have rounded outer petals, surrounding the feathery centres.

Peonies are long lived plants in the garden and resent being moved so choose a sunny spot where your plant will delight you for many years to come.

Enrich the soil with organic matter before planting - home made garden compost or well rotted manure is fine for this. Apply more garden compost to the surface of the soil around the plant each spring and cut back old stems to the ground as the new leaves appear.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
