Lilium Star Gazer

Oriental Lily

Beautifully scented

You will almost certainly smell the sweet scent of this beautiful Lily before you see the exquisite flowers. Large, tropical looking blooms are deep pink with a white edge. The centre of each petal has deeper red markings.

Where?

This variety is very popular as a cut flower but is equally worthy of a place in a container on a sunny patio.

How?

Use ericaceous compost - specially formulated for acid-loving plants - in containers and raise the pot on 'pot feet' through the winter months to help with drainage. Remove the flower once it has faded but allow the stems to die back naturally and build the bulb for next years show.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
