Libertia Taupo Sunset

Good plant for colour and structure

A great choice for the front of a tropical border or to add texture to a mixed border. Reddish green leaves hold their colour best in sun where this evergreen plant will slowly spread through the soil. Wiry stems hold white flowers in late spring and summer on mature plants.

Where?

Happiest in full sun at the front of a sunny border.

How?

Easy to grow in any well drained soil, but add coarse grit or sand to the base of the planting hole if your soil is heavy and wet in winter. Remove winter damaged leaves in spring to tidy the plant.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
