Heuchera Frosted Violet Dream

Coral Bells

Dramatic evergreen foliage

Jagged, deep purple leaves are an evergreen feature and mature leaves have a frosting of silver which adds to their beauty. Spires of creamy white flowers are seen in summer and are loved by bees.

Where?

Easy to grow at the front of a border in sun or part shade. A good choice for a container in a partly shaded spot.

How?

Best in a moist but well drained soil. Use good quality loam based compost for container gardening and raise the pot on 'pot feet' through the winter months to help with drainage. In the garden, place some coarse grit or sand in the base of the planting hole if your soil is heavy and wet in winter. Remove untidy leaves in late spring and spent flower spikes in summer to encourage more blooms.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
