Stunning flowers produced year after year throughout the summer

A compact form of daylily forming a clump of arching, slender mid-green leaves that die down in winter. In summer strong stems carry clusters of abundant lily buds which open in succession to spectacular trumpet lily flowers with with a delightful fragrance. The colour of the blooms is a rich orange-gold. The flowers are short lived and at their best in the afternoon; but as they fade they are followed by more and more blooms.


Plant in full sun or semi-shade in beds and borders. Excellent with hellebores which add interest in winter. Lovely with grasses in a prairie scheme.


Any reasonably fertile soil that is not too dry. No support required. Pick off faded flowers to keep tidy and removed foliage and flower stems when they die down in winter.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
