Helenium Wyndley

An ideal plant for the front of a boarder

Providing invaluable colour through late summer and autumn, this long lived plant is covered in orange and rusty red daises which have a pronounced brown centre loved by bees. Beautiful teamed with grasses and other late flowers for a fantastic finale to the year.

Happy in sun or part shade, this easy to grow plant will give years of colour planted in the middle of a border.

Best in moist soil. Enrich the soil before plating by adding organic matter - home made compost or well rotted manure is fine. Cut back old stems in late spring once the new leaves are spotted.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
