Great for cut flowers

Clouds of tiny flowers are held on wiry stems through the summer. This elegant plant is easy to grow and invaluable for flower arranging.

Where?

Happiest in full sun flopping over a path at the front of a border or to make a low mound which will be covered in blooms.

How?

Best in very well drained soil, place some coarse grit or sand in the base of the planting hole if your soil is heavy and wet in winter. Cut back old stems in spring once the new leaves are seen.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
