Geranium Pink Carpet

Border Cranesbill

A decorative ground cover

Creating a carpet of colour - as the name suggests - through summer. Small, bright pink blooms cover the plants and are set off by pale green leaves that complete the pastel picture.

Where?

Beautiful planted with old roses or to flop over a sunny path. This low growing Cranesbill makes good ground cover in full sun.

How?

Best in well-drained soil. Place some coarse grit or sand in the base of the planting hole if your soil is heavy and wet in winter. Remove faded blooms to encourage more and cut back old growth in spring as the new leaves appear.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
