Geranium Mavis Simpson

GardenAward

Cranesbill

A decorative ground cover

This is a very pretty variety and perfect if you want to create a cottage garden feel. It has soft grey-green leaves and lots of clear pink flowers right through the summer.

Where?

Happiest in the sun, but it is fine with partial shade too . An ideal groundcover plant at the front of a border, or alongside a path or paved area.

How?

Needs a well-drained, humus-rich soil. Enrich the soil with organic matter before planting - home made garden compost or well rotted manure is fine. Trim back after the first flush of flowers to rejuvenate the foliage and encourage more flowers later in the season.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
