Gaura Walberton's Flamingo

A new variety showing bright flowers over contrasting dark foliage

An elegant perennial with slender stems rising above a compact mound of red tinted, green leaves. It is brilliant for adding colour to the garden in late summer. A new compact variety with delicate pink butterfly-like flowers fluttering above the dark leaves from summer to autumn.

Where?

Plant in a sunny spot. Ideal for the front of a border or container.

How?

Best in a well-drained soil, add coarse grit or sand to the planting hole if your soil is heavy and wet in winter. Use good quality compost for container growing and raise the pot on 'pot feet' through the winter months to help with drainage.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
