Dianthus Pretty Flamingo PBR

Garden Pink

Beautifully scented

Glowing, carmine pink flowers will brighten a border for months through summer. Grey-green leaves make good ground cover and are a feature through the year. A lovely cottage garden plant and long lasting as a cut flower.

Where?

Choose a sunny spot in well drained soil at the front of a border or in a rock garden. Happy in coastal locations - plant near a path where the scent can be enjoyed.

How?

Add grit or sand to the soil when planting to help with drainage. Feed each spring with a suitable fertiliser. Remove faded flowers to encourage more.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
