Delphinium Delfix Rose

Compact form which needs no staking

A compact, delphinium that does not need staking and is a great choice where space is limited. It makes a mound of fine, fern-like leaves which is a lovely showcase for the masses of soft rose-pink flowers that attract butterflies and bees and are perfect for a splash of summer colour in the garden.

A lovely plant for a container or the front of a sunny bed where its.

Delphiniums enjoy fertile, well-drained soil. Enrich the soil with organic matter before planting - home made garden compost or well rotted manure is fine. Use a good quality potting compost for container growing. Mulch with compost in spring.

Delphiniums are in the buttercup family and the name derives from the Greek for dolphin, referring to the shape of the flowers.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
