An outstanding new compact form of this popular plant which will bloom from midsummer until autumn if dead-headed regularly. The upward facing, large, bell-shaped violet-blue flowers are carried on 45cm (18ins) stems above clumps of narrow, dark-green leaves. Beautiful when combined with roses and perennials. Useful to extend the season in a mixed boarder.

Where?

Plant in full sune or semi-shade at the front of beds and borders. Also excellent in pots and containers.

How?

Any well-drained fertile soil. Water reularly in dry weather and remove faded flowers to encourage further blooming. Cut back old flower stems in winter. No support required.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
