Large plumes of deep pink flowers in spring and early summer

A versatile plant that makes a mound of lacy, rich green fern-like leaves from which plumes of rosy pink flowers emerge, from late spring. The flower and foliage together are a lovely combination and they are wonderful for cutting and bringing indoors.

As well as looking great in a bed or border, it works well planted near water and is happy in a shady spot, a good choice for a containers to.

Best in a good moist soil that doesn't dry out in summer. Use a good quality general purpose compost for container growing.

Planting instructions

Water the plant in its pot thoroughly before planting – give it a good soaking. Prepare the area by digging a hole twice the size of the pot. Dig compost into the base of the hole. Remove the pot and position the plant in the hole, with the top of the rootball about level with the surrounding soil. Refill the planting hole with a mixture of garden soil and compost, firming as you go. Water in well and keep well watered during the plant's first year.
